About Simeon...
Hi, I’m Simeon. By day I’m a chaplain at a Christian International school in Nairobi, Kenya where I live with my amazing wife and our two children. This is probably only fitting since I grew up all around the world as a missionary kid. I started writing stories in high school to try and make sense of my life and figure out what I believed. Now I’m in my 30’s and still writing to try and make sense of life and faith and all the beautiful and broken things in our world. Stories have a special and sacred way of bringing things into focus and helping us to connect as people, which is why I keep writing and reading and listening and telling stories!
I believe there is hope and life and light waiting to be found in the beautiful story that God is telling, and we get to be a part of that story of healing if we have eyes to see and ears to hear. As a pastor, author, and global nomad I often find myself standing at the intersection of faith, belonging and storytelling. I've written a number of books including a memoir about my childhood growing up overseas (Between Worlds), a retelling of the story of Joseph in a post-apocalyptic world (The Dreamer), and the story of a young boy uprooted from his home and his humorous journey to put down roots in a new place where he is a total outsider (The Long Flight Home). |
